A jesus, or The Jesus.

Isaiah 9:6-7

Many religions have room for a jesus (notice non-capitalization). They have room for a baby in a manger that is harmless, unassuming, all accepting–simply a signpost pointing to the ultimate happiness of an all-inclusive, pluralistic, otherworldly utopia.
Many religions have room for a jesus. They have room for a long-haired, limp-wristed, effeminate renaissance painting that forgives the harlot, but conveniently forgets to say “Go and Sin No More!”
Oprah believes in a jesus–a non-jealous, non-judgmental teacher who leads people to god (non-caps), the light, nirvana, heaven, or whatever other term floats your inter-faith, ecumenical,  tolerance-happy boat.

And yet, for THE Jesus of the Bible, other religions have no room. There is no room for Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of God and God in the Flesh who is the ONLY way the ONLY truth and the ONLY life. Many people in the spirit of anti-christ will accept a “jesus”, but it is not the Jesus Christ  of the Bible, and is therefore an idol. One aspect or another of His person is left out to suit their own fleshly desires, and therefore the image in their minds can NO LONGER be labeled as the Christ, the Son of the Living God!

This season of Christmas, let us realize that–while the first appearance of Christ on earth is a blessed event– it is His person that we truly celebrate. Let us remember that we celebrate the fact that the righteous, loving, living, only God came to earth for us, in order to die, be buried, and rise again the third day so that our sins may be forgiven, and that we may go to live with Him in Heaven eternally. Let us remember that we are celebrating HIM as the ONLY way the ONLY truth, and the ONLY life!

Let us remember the Real Jesus.

  1. Very good stuff! Def. Gives one something to think about and consider….

  2. Found your blog on Facebook. Hope it goes well for you. I had a similar blog a year ago that never took off. Perhaps due to lack of promotion, perhaps due to lack of interest in Biblical spirituality?

Even with our nation trying to push Christianity out at ever front, there is still a lot of “jesus” things to be seen. I think it’s because nobody is offended by a poor widdle baby Jesus in a manger with all the sweet animals standing around.

No, it is the Jesus Christ on the Cross they find offensive. If He actually died for their sins, then they have issues they would rather not face.

So bring on all the “jesuses” you can find … just don’t make them look deep into their soul to find their need of the real Jesus !!

    Good posts. Thanks.

Wow! You are an awesome writer! Keep posting!

  4. I like it.

Stylistically you might try using italics instead of capitals. But it’s your blog, emphasize how you want. But I think it’s definitely a solid point, particularly in an increasingly spiritually apathetic world…

    • Thanks! I usually write these on notepad, and you can’t italics on Notepad, and I don’t always get around to switching it from caps to italics once I post. But I’ll remember to do so in the future. Thanks! Have an awesome day!
